The program at Harding is exactly what I wanted to gain more knowledge about myself and the role that God has for me in the world. It is the only nursing program I could find that had an aspect to it that is the same as what attracted me to nursing in the first place- a nurse as a Christian Servant.
I appreciated the fact that the Christian basis of the university is clearly an influence on the manner of class and clinical lecturing, as well as the fact that they offer a Health Care Missions Program. My only problem was with the number electives to choose from when scheduling your clinical rotations, some hospital based and some community based (impossible to figure out which ones will be most advantageous to you when you are graduated), but in addition Harding made it possible for me to travel overseas during one of the term breaks and work in a public wellness program, clarifying to me how I wanted to spend my career after finishing my degree. Harding prepared me well for the job I have now in international community health nursing.
