55 Scholarships Available for Minority Students

As any student knows, college is expensive. According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, students, on average, borrowed $19,000 for their college education in 2000. Asians, Hispanics, American Indians and Blacks borrowed anywhere from $16,800 to $19,800 for their college education. However, fortunately for minority students, there is another option other than accumulating borrowed debt when it comes to obtaining an education.

As reported by the US Department of Education, there are over 50 scholarships dedicated to providing financial assistance to minority students. Furthermore, there are thousands of other scholarships available for all students, no matter what their background. Of the 55 scholarships listed below, some are school specific, others are program specific and others are corporation specific, but all of them are open to those students of minority.
