Pilot Training Degrees

Pilots operate commercial airplanes, helicopters, private jets, and cargo planes. The Federal Aviation Administration's training and licensing requirements vary by which type of craft the pilot wishes to operate. A prospective pilot must undergo thorough training at an FAA approved pilot education program before obtaining his or her license. Training usually consists of 50 to 60 lessons, and can span from four months to one year, depending on the intensity and frequency of the classes. Jobs for pilots are expected to grow by 13 percent by the year 2016.
