Home Inspector Degrees

Home inspectors examine private homes, townhouses, condominiums, and apartments, usually in preparation for the sale or purchase of such. Home inspectors assess the quality of the electrical system, plumbing, walls, and other important aspects of a structure, and prepare reports accordingly. Preparation for a career in home inspection may include completion of a certificate program from a vocational or technical institute or a community college. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs in the field of construction and building inspection should increase by about 18 percent by 2016.
