Network Administration Degrees

Network administrators, also called computer system administrators, are responsible for the design, installation, and support of an organization's computer systems. This includes local area networks, wide area networks, network segments, and the Internet and intranet systems. Core job requirements for network administrators include maintaining network hardware and software efficiency, troubleshooting, and monitoring network availability. Network administrators usually have a degree in computer science, information technology, and/or certification in specific server network administration. Network administrators can look forward to a challenging work environment, a 27% increase in employment within the next ten years and, with the right education, a yearly salary of over $70,000.
