Biology/Biochemistry Degrees

In a biology/biochemistry program you will study the chemical combinations and reactions that make up an organism's life processes, such as its metabolism, reproduction, and growth. A degree in biology/biochemistry is a solid foundation for a medical, dental, or veterinary school, or, if you wish to pursue graduate education in biology, a job as a researcher. Without pursuing further education, a holder of a bachelor's degree in biology can work as a research assistant or as a technical sales person or service representative for one of the many pharmaceutical or chemical companies that need employees with a sound knowledge of biochemistry. Related degrees include physics, chemistry, geology, astronomy, and other sciences.

What is Bio Honors?

An Honors program in Biology is research-based and requires a student to complete a great amount of original biological work, a formal Thesis, which they present to a departmental Honors Research Symposium. It gives one an opportunity for independent research and achievement.
