Care Management Degrees
Care managers, also known as health care executives or health care administrators, are critical to the success of today's medical industry. Working on the business side of hospitals, doctor's offices, and nursing homes, care managers are responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising the delivery of health care to patients. While larger medical facilities may have several care managers to handle daily decisions, smaller facilities may leave all decisions about facility finances, operations, and admissions up to one executive care manager. Successful care managers should be familiar with management principles and practices, and have a master's degree in health services administration, long-term care administration, health sciences, public health, public administration, or business administration. Employment opportunities are expected to grow faster than average in the coming years. Average salaries in the field range from $57,240 to $94,780 per year, with those working general medical and surgical hospitals bringing in the highest annual earnings.- All
