Medical Billing & Coding
Ask a Question
Medical billers and coders are absolutely essential to the health care industry. Not only do they provide a level of organization in offices and hospitals, but the data they collect is used by insurance companies to determine cost of coverage. In order to work in this crucial field, individuals must receive a degree or certificate from an accredited institution. Courses should include tutorials on proper use of health insurance claim forms, medical documentation, billing management, electronic data interchange, government programs, and medical insurance and managed care. Currently, there are too few medical coders and billers working in the health care industry and demand for qualified professionals is imminent.
