Potential phlebotomy students must have completed a high school education or its equivalent, have current immunizations and pass a background check. You then would be ready to take a phlebotomy training program that lasts anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks.

Not necessarily. There are several degrees and certifications available for those wanting to work in the health care field. Once you decide what area you want to work in, then you can pursue the degree or certificate required.
