Product managers can expect to work with and oversee production, sales, advertising, promotion, and research teams in order to determine the best promotion and target market for various products. Typically product managers have a degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or commerce. Many product managers have advanced degrees such as MBA's and additional experience in the sales and marketing environment. The starting rate for product managers with less than one year experience is $58,000 while those in the business for over 20 years can expect an average annual salary of $86,000.
