Contract managers negotiate the terms of contracts between two parties. The goal of a contract manager is to provide the client with an agreement that maximizes efficiency and performance while minimizing all risks. Contract managers can work in many different areas including government positions, retail companies, or large corporations. Those wishing to work in the contract management field must be very detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills. Contract managers working an average of 13 years reported a median salary of $85,000.
