Audio producers are responsible for creating and overseeing the sound content of programs, recordings, and shows. Audio producers develop programs for radio, create recordings for commercials, and mix tracks and monitor audio quality in the television industry. Those who wish to pursue careers in audio production and recording may attend a vocational high school or technical school offering broadcasting and production courses. They may also obtain a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, production, or communications from an accredited college or university. Though jobs in broadcasting are expected to grow by 9.4 percent by the year 2016, positions in radio may decline as more stations consolidate their resources to conduct operations remotely.
