Overview
Shorter College's roots can be traced to 1873, when it opened as a school for young ladies in 1873. Today, the school is a highly regarded liberal arts Southern Baptist-affiliated college with three locations throughout Georgia. The school offers a range of Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees in areas including Business Administration, Early Childhood Education and Human Services.

Associate Degrees

• Associate of Science with a concentration in Business Associate of Science with a concentration in Business
  This program prepares students for future careers in the business world, though it is not necessarily career-focused. Students take foundational courses in on a variety of topics including business principles.
• Associate of Science with a concentration in Early Childhood EducationAssociate of Science with a concentration in Early Childhood Education
  This program leads to an A.S. in Science with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. The degree can be used as a stepping stone to Bachelor's degrees as well as for teacher preparation programs.
• Associate of Science with a concentration in Leadership Associate of Science with a concentration in Leadership
  This program leads to an A.S. in Science with a concentration in Leadership, and it can be used as a stepping stone to more advanced Bachelor degree programs.

Bachelor Degrees

• Bachelor of Science in Business AdministrationBachelor of Science in Business Administration
  This prepares students for future careers where they will plan, organize, direct, and control various functions of worldwide organizations. Students study the day to day challenges businesses around the world face.
• Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Early Childhood Education Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Early Childhood Education
  This degree leads to a Prekindergarten through Grade Five (P-5) certification and prepares persons to teach in elementary/primary schools. Graduates must demonstrate proficiency in all the disciplines (English language, humanities, social sciences, and more).
• Bachelor of Science in ManagementBachelor of Science in Management
  The B.S. in Management program is intended to prepare students for managerial roles in the business world. Courses are practical and hands-on.
• Bachelor of Science with a Major in Human Services Bachelor of Science with a Major in Human Services
  The B.S. in Human Services program prepares students with both the academic and practical experience they need for successful careers in Human Services. Graduates can look for jobs in a wide variety of human service agencies and community organizations.

Master Degrees

• Master of Arts with a major in LeadershipMaster of Arts with a major in Leadership
  This program is intended for students who want to pursue careers of leadership in a variety of environments ranging from businesses to community organizations. This degree is appropriate for those students who already have professional careers.
• Master of Business Administration Master of Business Administration
  The MBA is designed for students who want to pursue managerial or higher-level roles in a variety of companies and businesses. Academics, theory and practical application of ideas are all emphasized.
• Master of Education in Curriculum and InstructionMaster of Education in Curriculum and Instruction
  This degree allows students to teach at a collegiate level, and it provides them with greater understanding about how school curricula are formed and implemented. Teaching methods are analyzed and discussed in order to improve upon them when used in a classroom setting.
