High Tech Institute is a scam! Paid $28,000 for an associate degree that is worth nothing. They have old books and terrible overworked underpaid instructors.
High-Tech just got off probation and their degree programs had been canceled for bad instructors and 35% placement rate. The las vegas school is a scam as well as all High-Tech schools. They get commission per student and it shows! They are high pressured sales reps and work on a quota! They care nothing about the student. Find a low cost quality community college and save yourself $15,000 in debt with loans.

I took some classes via Distance Education (video/DVD/internet) and I could have taken many more! I LOVED it. I found that with regular communication through email and sometimes phone calls, my professors got to know me almost as well as professors in a traditional classroom setting.
Coursework was slightly more difficult to complete because it did require a lot of solo work and there was no "real-time" outlet for discussion, although message boards did help tremendously.
I found all involved to be highly motivated, intelligent, respectful individuals. The online experience prepared me for the highly independent work that I do today, and was beneficial in proving to my employer during the interview that I am a capable self-starter. Overall, I am very pleased with the e-experience!
