Overview
Since 1984, Capps College has been providing educational opportunities for students wishing to enter the health profession. Students receive onsite training for a variety of health services, including Medical Assistant, Medical Office Specialist, Pharmacy Technician, Dental Assistant, Massage Therapist and Cosmetologist. Several locations in Alabama are available to students to choose from – Mobile, Montgomery, Foley, and Dothan. There is also a campus in Pensacola, Florida.
Student Appeal
Students are drawn to Capps College because of the various programs and the quality education that is available to them. Capps staff and teachers are dedicated to providing the resources and tools that students need to be employable upon graduation. Through their unique Success Track, the school readies its students for the experiences they will face in the health professions with hands-on training in actual settings. Capps College is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and is licensed and approved by the Alabama State Department of Education. The Capps philosophy is centered on student success and the use proven methods of learning to ensure that each student can succeed when they enter the professional health field.
Financial
Financial aid is available to students and 90 percent of the attendees typically take advantage of the monies available to them. Federal grants make up the majority of the aid while student loans comprise a smaller portion. The school also offers assistance to new graduates to help them find jobs in their related field by improving their resumes and offering techniques for getting hired.

Students can earn an Associate of Occupational Science Degree (AOS) and apply it towards a major in a Medical Assistant, Medical Office Specialist or Pharmacy Technician program. The program training includes an industry leading curriculum and training that prepares students for management and supervisory positions after graduation. - CosmetologistCosmetologist
The Cosmetologist program is a new addition to the Capps offerings. It includes state-of-the-art equipment and 1500 hours of training in the latest styles and fashions from licensed professionals in the field of cosmetology. - Dental AssistantDental Assistant
The comprehensive Dental Assistant program provides more than 1,000 hours of training for a variety of dental procedures, including dental radiography, oral anatomy and pathology and dental pharmacology. Students receive hands-on training with actual patients by working alongside an established dentist.
- Massage TherapistMassage Therapist
Offering more than 1,000 hours of comprehensive training and knowledge, the Massage Therapy program focuses on many aspects of body massage, including sports medicine, holistic massage, deep tissue relief and many others. The tuition cost includes state licensing, a massage table, supplies, national certification and insurance fees. - Medical AssistantMedical Assistant
The Medical Assistant program is ideal for students wishing to enter this rapidly growing career field. Students learn the basics of many aspects of the medical field, including injections, patient care, laboratory procedures and office applications. Graduates from the program have many possibilities for continuing their education and focusing on one aspect for their career. - Medical Office SpecialistMedical Office Specialist
Students in the Medical Office Specialist program learn the intricacies of fulfilling the duties of working in a medical office or clinic. Focus is placed on a wide selection of topics, including billing, inventory management, insurance claims, medical records and health agencies, among many others. - Pharmacy TechnicianPharmacy Technician
This is a field that has a growing need for professionals to fill open spots. The Capps Pharmacy Technician program teaches students how to successfully complete the duties of the job, including weighing and measuring medications, complying with federal and state laws, learning interactions of various drugs and calculating doses, just to name a few.
